What This Position is all About

As a Client Advocate your primary responsibility is to develop, maintain, and grow business with both new and existing clients. This requires targeted research and outreach activities to identify and connect with companies in key target markets. It also requires a high-level introduction of Unrivaled’s Strategic Partner Program to appropriate decision-makers at target companies, moving the client into consultative discussions involving discovery, joint problem solving, planning, execution, and expansion.

Once a new account is established, the aim is to develop and broaden the client relationship. As this relationship is established and stabilized, you get the client fully comfortable with the account team, including Account Managers and Project Managers, for day-to-day communication and needs.

You are also responsible for identifying and developing strategic partnerships with like-minded industry players who can help Unrivaled enter new markets or gain deeper penetration and service of existing markets. An important ongoing goal is the development of strategic relationships that help to directly or indirectly lead to new business for Unrivaled.

Key Responsibilities

Prospect and Client Research – Using all available resources to gather intelligence for targeted prospecting. Includes researching, identifying, and targeting groups/prospects using available tools such as Internet, databases, media, subscription services (i.e. LinkedIn, Hoovers), industry sources etc.

Sales Prospecting – Develop a sales plan tailored to each prospect. Identify key decision makers; develop contact strategy and tactics for each prospect, execute contact strategy over time, changing as required.

Prospect Management – Compile and organize leads for orderly follow-up: Manage Leads/Accounts/Opportunities, pipeline management, sales planning, and forecasting. Initiate appropriate contact and follow-up. Report on prospect progress and problems as needed. Handle all direct negotiations with prospects.

Presentation Management – Plan and lead the sales presentation effort: Assist with preparation and presentation of RFP responses as required. Assemble sales/marketing materials tailored for each prospect. Lead sales presentation teams and close. Follow-up on all presentations as appropriate. Prepare Design Estimate Requests for action by others. Prepare specific sales proposals, including pricing proposals.

Client Management– Convert the customer to a client, and on to Strategic Partner. Cultivate a deepening relationship with customer, including joint planning. Expand contacts across Lines of Business within the client company. Penetrate client organization by selling more products and services.

Sales Goal Attainment– Achieve specified sales goals as required on a monthly and annual basis. Attain revenue quota. Attain other specific sales goals (i.e. Pipeline stage volume targets, average sales price, revenue per client, YOY growth by account/territory, etc.).

  • Financial Skills, Presentation Skills (Proficient in MS Office -Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Aggressive + fearless + hungry
  • Consultative sales experience, including successful track record
  • Formal sales training
  • Prefer 3 years in the tradeshow/event industry or relevant other experience
  • College degree
